Accommodation for students in Perth is readily available.

The most commonly sort after types of accommodation are rental properties, short stay hostels, and home stay accommodation.

Rental Property

There is a variety of rental property available to students in all suburbs of Perth. Students can rent anything from single rooms in a house or apartment through to whole apartments or houses. Often students will group together to rent a property together and share expenses.

The cost of rental property would range from approximately AUD100 per week for a room only up to AUD200 per week for a 3 bedroom apartment. Note that often rental property is unfurnished.

Short Stay Hostels

Short stay accommodation is provided by hostels in and around Perth. These provide for stays as short as one day at a time. The approximate cost of short stay hostel accommodation is AUD35 per day or AUD180 per week.

The Swan Barracks is adjacent to Kingston International College and has accomodation which is part of the Swan Barracks Heritage Centre. Accomodation is available for students who are arriving without fixed accomodation. Please book directly with the The Barracks Accomodation centre:

Homestay

One of the most popular types of accommodation for students is the Homestay. Here a student will live with an Australian family and experience the Australian life style.

All Homestay providers are carefully selected. You may be living with a single person or a large family. All speak English and will help you maximize your experience of Australia by introducing you to Australian customs and practices. A Homestay can be a most enjoyable and rewarding part of your education in Australia.

If you choose a Homestay you will get a bedroom in a house and share facilities with the owners. Optionally you can have meals included as well, usually breakfast and dinner. If you have particular dietary needs these can be catered for as well.

The cost of Homestay accommodation is approximately AUD120 per week for a room only, and approximately AUD210 per week for a room and 2 meals a day.
